Lazada is everywhere. On my email, on my
FB, even when I’m browsing through other websites, Lazada is there. It’s like,
it keeps on poking you until you notice it. So I finally decided to check
Lazada out. It actually has a lot to offer if you are that kind of person who
hates going to the mall and going store to store just to find a cheaper price
for that thing you are looking for. They also do COD (Cash on Delivery) which I
think is a very convenient option. But before ordering anything, I of course
first made sure that Lazada is a legit site. I read through a bunch of articles
and reviews about Lazada and from what I read, the overall ratio between
negative & positive feedback is 50:50.
So I decided to take a shot at Lazada and
ordered a Romoss Solo 2 4000 mAH Powerbank w/ LED Torch and a SanDisk Ultra
16gb Micro SD Card w/ Adaptor. All in all it was worth 1,147.00 PHP, and since
it was above 1,000 pesos, the shipping fee was free. I opted for the COD option
and all I needed to do was wait for my items to be delivered. They actually
tell you in their email that “If you have ordered from multiple sellers, your items
may be delivered separately by different couriers with no extra
shipping fee”, which is Ok for me. Then after that, they will send
an email telling you that your orders are being processed in their
warehouse. After that they would send
another email saying that they have already shipped your items and mention the
courier they sent it to. Expect that the items will be delivered 4-10 days
after you made the order, they actually say that in the email, and my first
item arrived 3 days later and the next one was 4 days later. I guess it also
depends on the courier they use. The couriers for mine were 2GO and LBC. And the
package was securely packed with bubble wraps, and the powerbank box was intact
and has a plastic that covers it. Tested it right away and it worked fine. I
forgot to take pictures of the SD card but it was in the same mint condition as
the powerbank.
Weighing in on the positives and the
negatives of my Lazada experience.
PRO’s
-the COD option I think is really
convenient, specially for people who does not have credit cards and debit cards
-the free shipping is a nice inclusion for
ordering 1K or more worth of items
-they have order tracking which is really
important when ordering online
-they email you about the status of your
order
CON’s
-you should always be prepared because you
never know when your items will be delivered, they should consider texting or
emailing the consignee a day before the order arrives
-the product review in Lazada is something
you can’t count on, the products either have not been reviewed or the review is
just not helpful at all
-the product specification in Lazada is
incomplete and I have to google the specs to get more info
Most of the negative feedback I have read
actually involved using the credit card payment option. I have ordered a couple
more items after my purchase in Lazada, and all of them arrived within the
given time frame, with secured packaging and we tested them immediately and they
were all working fine. All the items I ordered were paid using the COD option.
So I think Lazada works great using the COD option. But I also have a friend,
who ordered in Lazada using the COD option, and she actually ordered it for
someone who lives in Cebu. So after receiving the package she had to ship it to
Cebu and when it arrived, and they tested it, it was not working. They called
Lazada but they were informed that they only allow 7 days for the consignee to
call after the package has been delivered to complain about a product to have
it exchanged. But since it was more than 7 days from the delivery date that
they were able to really test if the product was working, they weren’t able to
have it exchange.
So the points to remember when using Lazada
is:
-They work great with COD option
-Test the gadgets you order immediately
upon receiving
